The Fred Meijer White Pine Trail State Park passes through the City of Rockford.

The community is famous as the Home of Wolverine World Wide the manufacture of “Hush Puppies” shoes.

There is a factory outlet store adjoining the trail on the north side of the business district.

There are many good places to eat and socialize with friends adjoining or near the trail.

The Rogue River is controlled by a dam in the downtown area which is a focal point of Rockford’s excellent park system constructed and maintained by the City of Rockford.  There are several shelters, many park benches, and picnic tables in the parks adjoining the trail.  There are two additional Rockford parks on the south side of the city connected to the trail.

The Rockford Area Historical Museum is located adjacent to the trail in the downtown area next to the dam parking area.
